Phase 2: Corrective Care
Now That You’re Out of Pain, Let’s Focus on Structural Rehabilitation and Care.
Most chiropractors consider symptom relief to be the simplest stage of care. However, if treatment stops as soon as the pain goes away, the underlying issue is far more likely to return. To help prevent symptoms from recurring, it’s important to continue with corrective care even after you start feeling better.
During the corrective or restorative phase, your adjustment frequency typically decreases compared to the initial relief phase. Depending on your specific condition, you may also be given targeted exercises and stretches—performed either in our office or at home—to support spinal alignment, strengthen surrounding muscles, and speed up the healing process.
It’s also completely normal to experience occasional mild flare-ups during this stage. These temporary setbacks simply mean your body is still healing and adapting. The length of this phase varies from person to person; depending on the severity and duration of your condition, corrective care may last anywhere from a few months to a couple of years.
